I have been writing for magazines and newspapers for four decades.
My writing covers a wide array of subjects, including profile, travel, science, the environment, and arts and entertainment.
I wrote a weekly sports column for 10 years for the Georgia Straight and have authored or co-authored 17 books on sports.
All told, I have won 12 Canadian and international writing awards.
My work has been showcased in such diverse publications as National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, Canadian Wildlife, Canada’s History, Chatelaine, Maclean’s, Destinations, Discovery, Equinox, Vancouver, Westworld, Western Living, Canadian Business, and BC Business, and such newspapers as the Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun and the Province.
As well, I have had my travel and wildlife photography published in several magazines. In addition, I have lectured on various aspects of writing to students at Ryerson University, Capilano University and the University of Victoria.
